Shoulder Impingement and Bursitis:
Shoulder impingement and
shoulder bursitis are a common source of pain in the shoulder. The pain is classically over the superior or
lateral aspect of the shoulder, although it can be both anterior and posterior
to the shoulder also. The pain generally
tends to get worse with lifting the arm overhead, reaching behind the back or
sleeping at night.
Treatment consists of antiinflammatory medications, appropriate rehabilitation
and correction and modification of activities so that appropriate recovery can
occur. Dr. Rehman can evaluate a
shoulder and look for any anatomical alignment issues or poor muscular
development issues, which may result in ongoing problems with the shoulder.
